Stephanie Galvez is a wife, fur mom, sister, daughter, friend, Super Spartan finisher, and cancer survivor. Stephanie met her husband Niko in 2012 during a work trip. It was history from there. The two became an unstoppable team. They opened a media production & consulting business NEG MEDIA PRO in 2020. They took a gamble and moved to Las Vegas with their fur child Chewie.
In 2016, four months before her wedding, Stephanie was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer. Doctors told her if one were to get cancer, thyroid cancer was the best one to have with a high cure rate. Little did she know she would undergo four surgeries (2016, 2018, 2020, 2022) and two rounds of radiation (2016, 2017). After moving to Las Vegas and changing insurance, Stephanie discovered her previous treatment was poorly handled. She should have only needed two surgeries and one round of radiation tops. To say she was devastated was an understatement. This news motivated Stephanie to be a cancer advocate by sharing her story and encouraging others to get second opinions.
After watching a friend’s Instagram story about getting screened for cancer, Stephanie decided to take a genetic test. At the end of 2022, Stephanie learned she carried the CHEK2 genetic mutation, which increases the chances of thyroid, breast, and colon/rectal cancer. With the thyroid cancer treated. She made the tough decision and took the preventative route. She underwent a bilateral double-mastectomy with reconstruction surgery in 2023. The surgery would decrease her elevated chances by 95%. Two months later, Stephanie had several enlarged uterine fibroids removed via C-Section. Again documenting her medical journey, Stephanie hopes to inspire others by becoming a motivational speaker.
With over 11 years of experience working at a Fortune 500 telecommunications company, Stephanie is now on the entrepreneur path. Stephanie started as a bilingual customer service representative. Advancing in her career, she held numerous positions in different areas of the business, including Retail Sales Manager, Executive Assistant, Project Manager, and Marketing and Sales Enablement. In 2020, Stephanie did what few Executive Assistants do, she earned her Lean Six Sigma Green Belt by reducing employee expense spending by 3%, equating to 1 million dollars in savings. Stephanie has earned a reputation for getting the work done in leading complex multi-million dollar technology proof of concept nationally and internationally.
For the last three years, Stephanie has dedicated her time to volunteering in Employee Resource Groups. As the Global Operations Lead for SOMOS, she curated and implemented over 60 programs and initiatives serving the Latino community within the United States and several Latino countries. Stephanie served on a second board, Women Associates of Verizon Employees. She built programs and events that supported women in technology. Being a Latina drove, Stephanie's passion to make a difference. Stephanie currently serves as a Mentor. Stephanie’s unique ability to motivate and inspire others to uncover layers of untapped skills has led her mentees to elevate to the next level. She is only accepting a few more new clients.
Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with an emphasis in Media Studies and a Minor in Political Science from San Diego State University. Loving to learn, she continued her education and graduated from Strayer University with her Master of Business in Marketing and earned two more graduate certifications. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys spending time with Niko and Chewie. Whether they are sitting at home or going on an adventure, she treasures each moment. As an avid kickboxer, she spends six days in the gym. Less than six months after having three back-to-back surgeries, Stephanie completed a Spartan Super 10k race in March 2024. She finished 59/121 in her age group. Stephanie is writing three books to fulfill her childhood dream as an author. She hopes to release the first one later this year.
